In honour of her 80th birthday, we asked Zamira Menuhin Benthall if she would plant a tree in the grounds of the School like Yehudi did when he turned 80. She chose a beautiful Silver Birch, and Brian and Steve selected a spot where the paths from the White House and Music House intersect on the way down to the Menuhin Hall, so that everyone will pass it on their various journeys during their day.

Zamira and Jonathan joined us for what turned out to be the coldest day of term so far! We all bundled up and met on the path after lunch to watch Zamira sprinkle the first bits of earth on the roots of the young tree, followed by Jonathan, Oscar, Lourdes and others, before hurrying into the warmth of the Hall to listen to another wonderful Lunchtime Concert.
