With the first term of the School's 50th year only two days old, a capacity Menuhin Hall audience witnessed an evening of outstanding music-making, as we were treated to the first of our special 50th Anniversary Alumni Concert Series, featuring Tasmin Little and Friends.

On this occasion, violinist Tasmin (1973-83) was joined by Susie Meszaros, viola (1970-8), Paul Watkins, cello (1983-8) - fresh from the Proms, Tim Gibbs, double bass (1991-7) and Melvyn Tann, piano (1969-75). Their obvious joy in playing together, and the very special rapport that exists between our alumni, was a joy to behold - and to hear, not least in their effervescent performance of Schubert's Trout Quintet which formed the second half of the concert.

During this anniversary year, every concert staged by the School in the Menuhin Hall will feature either current or former pupils. The next concert is a Showcase Concert, featuring current pupils, on Thursday 26 September at 7.45pm. The next Anniversary Alumni Concert will be Akiko Ono and Friends on Thursday 26 November at 7.45pm. Tickets for both concerts can be booked online (by clicking The Menuhin Hall at the top of this page) where the full season's programme can also be seen.
