Saturday 8 February was the date for the fourth in our 50th Anniversary Celebrity Concert series featuring alumni of the School, this time led by YMS cello professor Thomas Carroll.

In previous concerts, former students have travelled from North Carolina, Hong Kong, and various parts of Europe. This concert was no different, with CarlaMaria Rodrigues flying in from San Francisco, Jun Sasaki from Norway, and YMS violin professor Boris Kucharsky squeezing the performance in between engagements in Germany and Geneva. Corina Belcea brought her eight-week-old baby girl with her too.

This was an extraordinary three days, with alumni representing generations from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s at the School rehearsing together, rekindling old friendships - and in some cases making new ones - but in all cases reconnecting with the work of the School. Saturday evening was the culmination of all their hard work and a truly memorable occasion.
