Round-up of our Autumn/Winter Term

Happy New Year from everyone at The Yehudi Menuhin School! Before we embark on another busy and exciting term, we want to share a round-up of the news from our Autumn/Winter Term which you can read in our Newsletter.

Highlights include the opening of sister school in Qingdao, in China, and over the last few months many new pupils have benefitted from the wisdom and experience of the teachers who are employed there. We too have welcomed new staff from all over the world at a time when not only is the School bigger than it’s ever been, but when we are in the middle of exciting estate development plans and the detailed development of our five-year plan. This term will see more development of curriculum for the Baby Menuhins project, which we will pilot in late spring. There is a lot of talent out in the community and we are looking forward to seeing these young people’s talents blossom and grow.

Last term we said goodbye to two of our longest-serving members of staff, Lutsia Ibragimova and Oscar Perks, both of whom have guided many pupils over the years and we thank them for their commitment to the School. We also celebrated the 90th birthday of Ruth Nye, who is also one of our longest-serving members of staff and in whose honour we gave a celebratory concert on the 13th December as part of our Winter Festival. It was a lively and diverse festival including two sell-out performances of The Snowman for our family day. We really hope to see our concert hall full again for the remainder of our Autumn/Winter Festival and the Spring/Summer season ahead, which will be announced very soon.

As always, it was a very full term of music-making and academic success, and we hope you will enjoy reading about it. Look out for regular updates on our website and on social media throughout this term!
