What a fantastic week we've had here at the School.

We started off our Founder's Day celebrations with a concert with alumni Emmanuel Despax performing both Chopin Concerti with a quintet from the School. They also performed the night before at an external concert and at BBC Radio Three. You can listen to a recording from BBC's In Tune here.

The next day the whole school met in The Menuhin Hall for a talk and film by Anton Weinberg about the legendary Hans Keller, who taught at the School in Yehudi's day. Afterwards, there was a wonderful concert with Boris, Tommy, Nigel and alumni Tetsuumi Nagata and Per Rundberg, followed by one of Jean's delicious BBQs on the lawn. Throughout all of this, we were pleased to host visitors from the Independent Boarding School's Inspectorate, and demonstrate to them just how special YMS is.

In addition to all of this, we had concerts at Hartsfield Manor, St Mary's Church for the Stoke d'Abernon Residents' Association and a piano duo at Little Slyfield, not to mention the orchestra performing at Banstead on Saturday!

Perhaps most remarkable is that this week also marks the start of public examinations, so our pupils are busy revising alongside all of their musical commitments. We are so proud of all of their incredible accomplishments, on and off the stage.
