Competition Success

We are immensely proud to announce that our pupil - Ines Maro, has won the 5th National competition of Young performers contest of Estepona, Spain. A unanimous decision was made by the jury which included some of the most important musicians of Spain, including the director of the Reina Sofia Conservatory, Directors of Orchestras and Representatives of the National Classical Radio.

Ines also won 5 other prizes, including contracts with The Philharmonic Orchestra of Malaga concerto (to be decided), The Bruch concerto with the Collegium Musicum in Malaga and an extra concert in Marbella, plus a recital at the Philharmonic Society of Malaga. All the concerts will be in the orchestras 2023/2024 seasons. Ines will also receive a violin case from GEWA and has been invited to appear on Spanish National Classical Radio on their program, Andante con Moto and has already been mentioned on Radio Clasica by one of the judges, Daniel Broncano.

Juan A. Mendoza V. - Artistic Director of the Reina Sofía School of Music since 2000 says, "Music brings us together in Estepona, for the fifth time in the Young Performers Competition, and reminds us that it is our universal language, our form of communication to share with family and friends, the key that opens hearts and expresses our feelings. All mothers and fathers have whispered songs into the ears of our babies, even before they were born. For this reason, it is not surprising that the taste and love of music grow along with our children, as the best travel companion that we can give them."

"Dedicating our time and effort to learning a musical instrument is a very important part of our education, perhaps at times the most difficult, but also the one that will give us the greatest satisfaction throughout our lives. This noble art of ours opens our minds, makes us better people, teaches us to share and makes us happy."

Huge congratulations to Ines Maro!
