Associate Artist Mahan Esfahani to make his debut at The Menuhin Hall

We are thrilled to be welcoming the acclaimed harpsichordist Mahan Esfahani to The Menuhin Hall on Thursday 23 February. Born in Tehran, Mahan Esfahani is the first and only harpsichordist to be a BBC New Generation Artist (2008–10), a Borletti-Buitoni prize winner (2009), a nominee for Gramophone’s Artist of the Year (2014, 2015, and 2017) and the winner of the Wigmore Medal in 2022.

Mahan is not only a world-class musician and instrumentalist, but he is also a wonderful communicator, with a diverse range of talents and interests which sets him apart as a truly well-rounded artiste.

Mahan is currently one of four Associate Artists at the School and regularly visits to work with our students in masterclasses.

Mahan will perform with some of our pupils for what will be a truly unique and unforgettable concert. On the programme is a collection of Bach's Preludes and Fugues, plus two Mozart trios and the Bach masterpieces that inspired them.
