Our cellists were treated to the first masterclass of this rather strange academic year, YMS alumnus Alexander Chausian.

The internationally acclaimed Armenian cellist performs regularly at legendary venues such as the Wigmore Hall and Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, Konzerthaus Vienna, Suntory Hall Japan, Carnegie Hall in New York, and Symphony Hall in Boston.

Hayden, Caitlin and Laura spent the morning with Alexander, working on Mendelssohn, Dvorak and Bruch. The afternoon session was open to all pupils to watch, with Eddie, Hattie, Ozgur and Caterina played Elgar, Mendelssohn, Barber and Brahms.

It was lovely to be able to welcome Alexander back to the School, and we look forward to seeing him again soon.
