Last Thursday, we hosted an exclusive event for the Friends of The Yehudi Menuhin School at West Horsley Place, a Grade I listed mediaeval manor house and estate of great beauty and historic significance in Surrey.

The evening was a huge success, with Friends enjoying a behind the scenes tour of West Horsley Place, a drinks reception and a concert by some of our talented pupils. The programme consisted of pieces by Bach, Hasselmans, Vieuxtemps, Tansman and Ysaÿe and showcased a variety of talent and instruments. The evening was particularly special because it featured a new harp which was generously funded by the Friends of the School. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to see the Harp being played for the first time in an external performance.

Friends’ events are held regularly throughout the academic year, and an invite to these events is just one of the benefits you can enjoy as part of your membership. Other benefits include a one-week priority booking period for YMS promoted concerts at The Menuhin Hall, occasional invitations to pre-concert receptions at the School, with the opportunity to meet pupils and staff, including the Head and Director of Music and access to exclusive Friends-only events held at YMS.

If you are interested in becoming a Friend and attending our next event, visit our dedicated Friends page where you can find out more information and see how your contributions can make a huge difference to the musical education of our pupils. We would love for you to join us and look forward to hearing from you.
