We are proud to present the return of our Summer Solos Series, commencing Friday 26 April and running until Friday 21 June. This inspiring series showcases the musical talent of the School at its very best, offering every pupil the chance to share their love of classical music as they take to the stage of the School’s spectacular 300-seat concert venue, The Menuhin Hall.

Across a series of six dates, the audience will experience an extraordinarily diverse repertoire, from the serenity and turbulence of Chopin’s Nocturnes and Ballades, to the unfettered drama of Szymanowski and Scriabin, and the spectacle of Paganini and Wieniawski. There will be a chance to imagine the Bohemian countryside with Smetana and Martinů, dance in a Hungarian tavern with Brahms, and feel the warmth of the Spanish sun with what many describe as an unmissable summer favourite: Sarasate’s Carmen Fantasy. Throughout the series, many of the pupils are set to play riveting solo works for piano as well as joining their peers on stage as accompanists for strings, harp and guitar.

Ashley Wass, Director of Music, said: “Our Summer Solos offer the chance for each of our talented pupils to take to the stage and showcase the culmination of their hard work. For our audience, it truly is the occasion to see the musical stars of tomorrow, before they become famous.”

The concerts promise the ideal opportunity to wind down after a busy week. With the abundant, leafy grounds, concert go-ers are invited to bring a pre-concert picnic or browse the offerings at the Menuhin Hall’s bar, which opens one hour before each concert.
