With no snow in Surrey YMS pianists Sohyun Park, Menachem Rozin, Ursula Perks and Leyla Cemiloglu, together with William Dutton (violin) and Tamaki Sugimoto (cello), headed for the Scottish Highlands in search of more wintry weather (and some respite from the floods).

Accompanied by YMS Piano Professor Ruth Nye and Director of Music Malcolm Singer (with his wife Sara Nathan), they spent the first few days of half-term taking part in Music at Blair Atholl, giving two concerts, the first in Lude House (appropriately enough, for the day after St Valentine, on a romantic theme), and the second at Lude Steading.

On Monday 17 January they moved down to Edinburgh, where the Headmaster and his wife (Richard and Elaine Hillier) were delighted to join them as usual for their annual concert at the Royal Over-Seas League on Princes Street, which was followed by dinner in its beautiful restaurant with its panoramic view over the floodlit castle. Then south on the train for a well-deserved half-term break. Well done to all!
