Work has finally begun this week on the roof of Music House (the oldest part of the School). The last few weeks have seen the scaffolding gradually rising up around the older part of Music House and a protective roof being put into place (as in the picture above). Last week we were also finally granted our bat licence, which means that we are now able to move any bats we find in the roof cavities into alternative roosting places.

Over the coming weeks and months the existing leaking and troublesome roof will be stripped away and a new (second) floor built to provide five additional single bedrooms and one twin room, as well as a small staff flat, all with their own en-suite showering facilities.

The work is due to be completed next summer and will enable us to reduce the number of pupils in existing boarding accommodation, providing everyone with just a little more space and comfort.

There will inevitably be a lot of disruption over the next few months, but the end result will certainly be worth it!
