Looking ahead to our Summer Term

We are thrilled to welcome all our pupils back today for the start of a jam-packed Summer Term! We have lots of exciting things coming up for our pupils, staff and supporters.

Below are just some of the events, activities and announcements to look forward to.

Baby Menuhins

April sees the launch of our new baby and toddler music classes, Baby Menuhins. The classes will help children develop a love of music, creativity, and expression in a fun, community environment. Following the ethos of The Yehudi Menuhin School and Yehudi Menuhin himself, Baby Menuhins will also incorporate elements of mindfulness and well-being, something we believe sets us apart from other baby and toddler music classes.

Classes will be taking place every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning during term-time for three age groups: 6 months to 1 year, 6 months to 3 years, and 3 years.

You can book online via our Baby Menuhins section.

Open Morning

If you, or a young person in your family, is a talented and passionate string player, guitarist or pianist then book a place for our open morning on Monday 1st May and come along to find out more about life at The Yehudi Menuhin School!

This is a chance to discover what life is like at our small, nurturing school where we pride ourselves on offering an outstanding, specialist musical education alongside a rigorous academic curriculum tailored to each individual child.

Enjoy a tour of the school, hear some of our current pupils play and meet our Headmaster, Ben Gudgeon and Director of Music, Ashley Wass.

Harp & Composition

Harp – We are excited to be hiring a new Professor of Harp to join our fantastic team of music staff, providing one-to-one principal study tuition, plus regular studio classes and additional support as required.

Composition - Currently our pupils submit compositions for GCSE and A-level examinations, but composition is studied throughout a pupil's time at the school. We’re excited to expand on this curriculum, more information to come this term!

Our Spring/Summer concert season is in full swing, and we have lots of upcoming concerts for everyone to enjoy. We are excited for our new Friday night Summer Solo’s to start and continue throughout May and June on selected Friday’s.
