Jenny Dexter (YMS Duke of Edinburgh Award coordinator) writes:

Rosie Bennett (YMS alumna), Philip Nelson and Qian Hui Ho (current students) received their Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award certificates at St James’s Palace on Wednesday 25th March alongside other participants from the south east of England. The Duke of Edinburgh was there to congratulate all the award holders and we were lucky that he took the time to stop and chat to both me and the pupils. He was interested in the instruments that the students played and asked if they would go on to be professional musicians in the future.

The comedian Holly Walsh, who was speaking at the occasion, stressed that all those there should be incredibly proud of themselves and their achievements. After the presentation we had a celebratory lunch with parents and guardians at the RAC Club on Pall Mall. The first Gold Awards achieved by pupils at The Yehudi Menuhin School. Let’s hope the first of many!
