Many congratulations to YMS student Daniel Penney on being named as one of the winners of the Junior Category (12-16) of the BBC Proms Inspire Young Composers’ Competition 2015. The announcement was made live on BBC Radio 3 on 3 July and included a short section of Daniel's piece The Complications of Life in an Enclosed Space.
Daniel's piece will be performed at a special Proms event at the Royal College of Music on 28 August by the Aurora Orchestra and will be recorded for a future broadcast on BBC Radio 3.
In addition he received a BBC Commission which will be performed by the Aurora Orchestra at the Wellcome Collection festival on 26 September and broadcast live on BBC Radio 3.
