The countdown to our Winter Festival is on!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at The Menuhin Hall and you are invited to join us at our Winter Festival from 11-14 December for four days of music and merriment.

The Festival begins on Sunday 11 December with a Family Day celebrating two great works associated with Christmas. Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite will be performed on two pianos with narration by our Community Partnerships Coordinator Keelan Carew and illustrations by artist Emily Woodard. This will be followed by a screening of The Snowman which will be accompanied by the School's orchestra.

On Monday 12 December you can experience the captivating talent of our pupils in a showcase-style concert featuring Vaughan Williams Piano Quintet and a Piano Trio by our newly appointed Associate Composer, Alexey Shor.

We are also delighted to dedicate a concert to Ruth Nye, one of our longest standing music teachers, on Tuesday 13 December as she approaches her 90th Birthday. The programme will include several pieces written specially for this occasion, and one written for her 80th birthday concert, in addition to some of the well-loved repertoire that her pupils have learned from her over the years. The performers will include current pupils and alumni.

The festival will close with a spectacular festive finale on Wednesday 14 December involving the whole school community. The first half will feature César Franck’s Piano Quintet performed by pupils alongside our Associate Artist Maxim Rysanov (viola) and Director of Music Ashley Wass (piano). The second half celebrates Christmas with Corelli’s Christmas Concerto and Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Christmas Carols, conducted by our Choral Director David Condry.

Book your tickets on The Menuhin Hall website or purchase them by emailing the Box Office at boxoffice@yehudimenuhinschool.co.uk or calling 01932 559400. The opening hours are Monday to Friday 10am-3pm and one hour before concerts commence.

We look forward to seeing you there!!
