Coming up at The Menuhin Hall
We have lots of exciting concerts coming up at The Menuhin Hall this Winter. In November, we are delighted to welcome back our Artist in Residence, clarinettist Julian Bliss, for our Remembrance Day Showcase on Saturday 11 November. He will join our pupils for Messiaen’s legendary Quartet for the End of Time following a performance of Korngold Suite for Two Violins, Cello and Piano Left Hand Op 23 by our Director of Music, Ashley Wass, and pupils.
We also welcome violinist and alumna Natalia Lomeiko and our Professor of Piano Dinara Klinton for an evening of Schumann and Szymanowski on Thursday 23 November. They will perform Szymanowski Myths Op 30 and Schumann/Kreisler Fantasy in C major Op 131 and then be joined in the second half by our pupils to present Schumann’s Piano Quintet in E-flat major.
December will see the return of our popular Winter Festival from Sunday 10 to Wednesday 13 December, featuring a Family Day: Christmas Carols and The Snowman, a Chamber Music Showcase with our Composer in Residence Sally Beamish, a Christmas Showcase by our pupils and a Festive Finale with our very own Deputy Director of Music, Marco Galvani and violinist David Grimal. There will be plenty of seasonal music across the four days to get you into the Christmas spirit. Full details are available on The Menuhin Hall website.
For the first time, our Family Day will feature a mini-Christmas market, which will include an array of stalls with Christmas goodies and gifts, mince pies, mulled wine, popcorn, face painting, Father Christmas and a jazz quartet. Our Professor of Harp, Keziah Thomas, will also be running some short harp workshops for anyone interested in playing or learning about the instrument or simply having a go. More details on how to book a space on this workshop will be announced in due course.
Don’t miss out! Book your tickets concerts on The Menuhin Hall website.
We very much look forward to seeing you at The Menuhin Hall in the months ahead.
