Every year we face the possibility of losing talented pupils
from more modest backgrounds unless we can help them pay their school fees
through our Bursary Fund. Welcoming pupils to YMS based on their ability to
play, not to pay, is a cornerstone of the school’s ethos and allows us to maintain
a diverse community with excellence at its heart.
We strive year-on-year to raise enough funding to support
all those families who need our help and in these tough times, the challenge is
more pressing than ever. This year alone we will disburse close to £700,000 in
fee support, a significant increase on previous years.
Just over a month ago, a very generous local supporter
promised to match every donation to the School’s Bursary Fund between now and Christmas,
£1 for £1, up to £100,000.
The response to our campaign has been so overwhelming that
we have already met our target, with another month to go. As a result, we are
thrilled to report that our donor has agreed to raise the bar and will match
all donations up to an astonishing £200,000!
We are immensely grateful to all those of you who have
supported this campaign thus far. With your support, we will be able to offer
financial assistance to all those pupils who show that they have the talent,
potential and drive to flourish at The Yehudi Menuhin School, and who would not
otherwise be able to take up their place.
Every gift, however modest, will make a difference, and with
Gift Aid, your gift will go even further. A £100 donation, match-funded and
with Gift Aid, will be worth £250 to the school, meaning you will have more
than twice the impact.
Please help us to make the most of this extraordinary
opportunity and unlock the full £200,000 in match-funding.
