The tale of 'Babar the Elephant’ has been brought to life by our 14 young pianists during lockdown whilst at home all over the world. From Singapore to Scotland, each of The Yehudi Menuhin School’s pianists recorded a section of Francis Poulenc’s beautiful score.

The recordings were pieced together in the UK with a narration by Chris Jarvis from CBeebies ‘Show Me Show Me’.

Jean de Brunhoff’s popular children’s story of one little elephant’s epic from rags to riches is set to evocative and charming music by French composer Francis Poulenc.

‘Babar the Elephant’ performed by pupils from The Yehudi Menuhin School with Chris Jarvis will be broadcast on Monday 29th June at 7.30pm on Little Radio, a new radio station for children available via an app that’s free to download from your app store, and also available online.

If you miss the premiere on Little Radio, 'Babar the Elephant' will be available as part of our Summer Festival Children's Concert at 2pm on 5 July.
