Andreas Frölich
Professor of Piano
German pianist Andreas Frölich studied with Stefan Askenase, Vitaly Margulis in Freiburg and Pavel Gililov in Cologne. During his studies he was a prize-winner of numerous prestigious competitions in Senigallia, Finale Ligure, Vienna, Milano and many others.
In the concert hall Andreas has performed sellout recitals in multiple famous venues and music festivals, such as Rheingau Musikfestival, Schleswig -Holstein Musikfestival, Salzburg, Emilia Romagna Festival, Schubertiade Roskilde. As a soloist Andreas Frölich has appeared with many acclaimed orchestras worldwide, among them St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Münchener Kammerorchester (Munich Chamber Orchestra), Stuttgarter Kammerorchester (Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra), Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra and Talinn Chamber Orchestra. Andreas Frölich is the pianist of the Mendelssohn Trio Berlin and he performs regularly with Ensemble Wien, led by the concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic.
Andreas has recorded extensively for radio both internationally and in his native Germany and released more than 40 CD’s (a number of them award winning) across OEHMS CLASSICS, CPO, EMI, BMG, Divox, Signum, Fono. He is Artistic Director and Chairman of the International MozArte Piano Competition Aachen, Artistic Director of the MozArte International Music Festival.
Away from the concert platform Andreas also maintains a celebrated career in pedagogy. He is Professor at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, Aachen; Yehudi Menuhin School and Professor at the Talent Music Masters University in Brescia. In addition, he is a Guest Professor at the International Summeracademy Mozarteum Salzburg, the Euro Arts Academy, the Musica Mundi Festival, Waterloo and gives masterclasses worldwide.
His students have won over 200 prizes at music competitions and he is often invited as jury member in many international piano competitions. Andreas Frölich is an official Steinway Artist.
