YMS celebrates another excellent year of A Level results

The Yehudi Menuhin School is proud to report that its pupils passed 100% of their A Level examinations, with 68% of all grades at A* - B. 

YMS Head, Robin Harskin, was delighted with the result:   

“I am delighted that our leavers passed all their A Levels and over two-thirds of grades were A* to B. This proves once again that the tuition they receive here is not just designed to turn our students into world-class young musicians but also provides them with a thorough academic education. We wish them all the very best as they start the next phase of their lives in the world's top conservatoires and universities.” 

These results are the culmination of an academic year of extraordinary success for our pupils, including the return of the UK-China Cultural Exchange with our sister school YMS Qingdao; our longstanding Scottish tour, concerts with orchestras including the English Symphony Orchestra, and major competition wins across 3 continents. This year has also featured masterclasses and talks from musicians and composers including Alexander Sitkovetsky, Robert Levin, John Kenny, Sally Beamish, Tasmin Little and Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective. The year concluded with the annual Leavers’ Concert at Kings Place, with a programme spanning centuries from Beamish to Brahms.  

The results are also a reminder of the passion, commitment and inspiration that our pupils have shown across their time at the school. No matter how long they have studied at the Yehudi Menuhin School, they are now and for the rest of their lives cherished members of the global YMS community.
