Summer at YMS
We are excited to announce our new season of events in The Menuhin Hall.
Take a look at our events guide. It's full of information about our exciting plans for the Summer term, including our bigger-than-ever Summer Festival. There are concerts, lectures, films and events for the whole family, and under 18s go for free. We look forward to seeing children and grandchildren alongside our longstanding supporters.
It will be a summer like no other, and we can't wait to share it with you.
The celebrated violinist Yehudi Menuhin founded his school in Surrey in 1963 to provide a place for musically gifted children from around the world to develop their talents to the highest level within a nurturing and stimulating academic environment, regardless of their economic background.
Today’s school provides a holistic education for 86 exceptional students aged from 8 to 19, with specialist tuition on the stringed instruments, piano and classical guitar. Our students split their time between their academic and musical studies, and are given many opportunities to perform in front of an audience. Concerts take place regularly in our own Menuhin Hall, but also in local schools, care homes and churches, carrying on Menuhin’s belief in the importance of giving back to the community.
Alongside their musical studies, students engage in a stimulating academic programme, and participate in a variety of sporting activities and the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.
What We Do
Our pupils lead busy and varied lives. Find out more about their musical studies and academic curriculum and how to apply to become a pupil at the School.
An Update from The Menuhin Hall
We have been very busy planning a truly grand re-opening - one that shall be worthy of the anticipation that the entire Menuhin community has felt throughout the past year.
As this has been a year unlike any other, so too shall be this year's Summer Festival. As always, it will be the pinnacle of all of the hard work of the pupils and staff at The Yehudi Menuhin School, and will showcase their incredible talents and achievements.
We are also excited to present an expanded series of events for the whole family, both in The Menuhin Hall and in venues in our local community - concerts, lectures, films and activities to introduce young children to the joy of classical music. For all Summer Festival events in The Menuhin Hall this year, tickets are free for under 18s, so we are looking forward to seeing children and grandchildren alongside all of our regular supporters.
This is the perfect opportunity to introduce the music you love to the people you love. It will be a Summer season to remember, and we can't wait to share it with you.
With our thanks for your continued support
