Welcome to The Yehudi Menuhin School


The celebrated violinist Yehudi Menuhin founded his school in Surrey in 1963 to provide a place for musically gifted children from around the world to develop their talents to the highest level within a nurturing and stimulating academic environment, regardless of their economic background.

Today’s school provides a holistic education for 86 exceptional students aged from 8 to 19, with specialist tuition on the stringed instruments, piano and classical guitar. Our students split their time between their academic and musical studies, and are given many opportunities to perform in front of an audience. Concerts take place regularly in our own Menuhin Hall, but also in local schools, care homes and churches, carrying on Menuhin’s belief in the importance of giving back to the community.

Alongside their musical studies, students engage in a stimulating academic programme, and participate in a variety of sporting activities and the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.

The Menuhin Hall

We regret to inform you that, in accordance with Public Health England guidance, all concerts at The Menuhin Hall are now cancelled until the end of July.

It is with enormous sadness that we temporarily close our doors, but the safety of our entire community of pupils, staff, Friends and audience members is of the utmost importance. We apologise for the disruption and thank you for your continued support during this period of great uncertainty.

The Box Office will be in touch with all ticket holders to offer refunds. Due to the number of events and tickets in question, and depending on how the current situation develops in the UK, this may take some time and we would greatly appreciate your patience and understanding during this period. We may not always be available to answer calls, but will be contacting all of our customers individually in the coming weeks. Should certain concerts be rescheduled in the next season, we will endeavour to offer priority for those who had tickets booked for those events.

These are very challenging times for all venues and arts charities. If you are able to do so, we would kindly ask you to consider donating the price of your tickets rather than requesting a refund. We would be immensely grateful for your support which would be used to cover the core costs of the Hall, helping us plan ahead for our next season and a brighter future.
