Welcome to The Yehudi Menuhin School

The celebrated violinist Yehudi Menuhin founded his school in Surrey in 1963 to provide a place for musically gifted children from around the world to develop their talents to the highest level within a nurturing and stimulating academic environment, regardless of their economic background.

Today’s school provides a holistic education for 86 exceptional students aged from 8 to 19, with specialist tuition on the stringed instruments, piano and classical guitar. Our students split their time between their academic and musical studies, and are given many opportunities to perform in front of an audience. Concerts take place regularly in our own Menuhin Hall, but also in local schools, care homes and churches, carrying on Menuhin’s belief in the importance of giving back to the community.

Alongside their musical studies, students engage in a stimulating academic programme, and participate in a variety of sporting activities and the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.

An Update from The Menuhin Hall

We are sorry to announce that, owing to the national lockdown, we are unable to open our concerts to the public as we had previously planned. In line with Government restrictions, we have once again moved all activities online for the foreseeable future.

All concerts have been put on hold until further notice, which means that all Priority Booking has also been paused. As soon as we have more information, we will share by email and post on our websites.

We are so sorry not to be able to open our doors and welcome you to The Menuhin Hall, but look forward to doing so as soon as circumstances allow. In the meantime, we will continue to share our music via The Menuhin Hall at Home. If you are not currently receiving this series, please sign up at www.themenuhinhall.co.uk.

With our very best wishes for 2021 - may we all meet again before too long!
