Many of the world’s finest musicians began their journey at the Yehudi Menuhin School, and for most, it was only possible thanks to generous support.
The impact of legacies has already been transformational and heartwarming.
By leaving a gift in your will, you can pass on your love of music and help future generations grow, perform, and inspire – long after your own story is told.
The 1963 Society
The 1963 Society brings together those of our donors who have told us that they intend to include a gift to the School in their will. We host an annual 1963 Society event at the School, which gives us the opportunity to say thank you in person and to update you on our plans for the future.
The Yehudi Menuhin School is a registered charity (charity number 312010) and all legacies made to the school are exempt from UK Inheritance and Capital Gains Taxes. Under current rules, if you leave 10% or more of your chargeable net estate to charity, the Inheritance Tax rate on the whole of your taxable estate is reduced from 40% to 36%.

Leaving items to the school
We are often bequeathed musical instruments and items such as recordings and sheet music from individuals who share our passion for music. Whilst we are very grateful for these donations, it is sometimes the case that we are unable to accept them, due to restrictions on space and the specific needs of the School at the time. If you would like to include musical instruments or other objects in your will to bequeath to the Yehudi Menuhin School, please contact us before writing them in so that we can discuss the best course of action with you.
Whether you have already decided to leave a gift in your will or would like more information about legacy giving, we would love to hear from you.
