Roughly 40 students from the High School connected to the Tokyo University of the Arts spent the day at YMS making music, art and new friends this past Wednesday. A joint effort by the Music and Modern Foreign Languages Departments, the day was filled with a variety of activities ranging from masterclasses, calligraphy and sign language, to cooking, composition and creative writing. The day ended with a concert in The Menuhin Hall, and Professor Sawa from the University conducting a mixed orchestra of pupils from both schools.
It was a pleasure to host the visitors and we look forward to meeting them again.
Thank you to Akiko Ono, Oscar Colomina i Bosch, Didier Descamps, Tamas Reti, Jean Labourg, Cathy Whitnall and all of the staff who helped to make the day a success.
