YMS ushered in the Year of the Pig with a fabulous buffet lunch prepared with the customary flare of our fabulous Catering team, lead by Head Chef Jean Labourg.
The menu included slow cooked pork belly in BBQ sauce, hoisin duck, vegetable and shitake mushroom chow mein with tea-stained eggs, mini vegetable spring rolls, steamed jasmine rice, egg and coconut custard tarts, lychees and fortune cookies. There was much chatter around the tables as pupils excitedly broke open their fortune cookies and discussed the contents found within.
Currently at YMS we have pupils from 30 different countries speaking 28 different languages. Usually it is music that unites us, but celebrations like this give us a different way to come together and learn more about each other's cultures.
