This weekend we were privileged to help Zamira Menuhin Benthall celebrate her 80th birthday with friends and family.
Despite the weather, the atmosphere was warm and happy, with friends, family members and alumni of the School coming together to celebrate Zamira and all she contributes to the School and the wider world. A concert with former and current pupils included music that had meant something special to Yehudi, and in turn to Zamira. Alumni performers included Valeriy Sokolov, Melvyn Tan, Alina Ibragimova, Tasmin Little, Bennet Ortmann, Sào Soulez Larivière, Max Calver, SongHa Choi, Joe Pritchard, Tianyou Ma and Can Arisoy.
Alongside a delicious lunch, we were treated to some very special cake, baked with love by Lourdes Samarasekara! It was a joyful occasion, filled with happy reunions, new friendships and, of course, truly wonderful music.
